This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This private reference site cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a court order, accept bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. The record-holding court or responsible law-enforcement agency must answer those questions.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Use the paperwork first, then choose the office whose work matches the question. The contacts below are separate offices, and they do not share one warrant-status desk.
- McCormick County Sheriff’s Office: The county contact page lists Records and Warrant Service and gives 864-465-2520. The office address is 211 W. Augusta St. Extension, McCormick, SC 29835. The Sheriffs’ Association directory lists a different main number, 864-465-3200, so use the county’s own contact page to confirm the current route before relying on the directory entry. No public name-searchable warrant roster, separate warrant email, or walk-in warrant counter was verified.
- Clerk of Court: Court-file questions for General Sessions, Common Pleas, or Family Court go to the Clerk at 133 S. Mine St., Room 102, McCormick, SC 29835, telephone 864-852-2195. The Clerk can direct a records request for those divisions but does not provide legal advice or replace the judge handling a case.
- Magistrate’s Office: This office issues warrants within its jurisdiction, sets bonds, and hears summary criminal and traffic matters. Its administrative office is at 211 Augusta St. Extension; telephone 864-852-2316, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office lists money orders and certified checks for its own payments; that detail should not be assumed to govern every bond or court.
- Bond Court and detention: Bond Court is at 141 Cecil Wall Circle and uses 864-852-2316. It is separate from the Magistrate’s administrative office. McCormick County Detention Center is at the same complex and lists 864-852-0058. The inmate kiosk’s $3 transaction fee concerns the kiosk and is not confirmation that bond can be paid there.
- Traffic citation: South Carolina’s Traffic Ticket Search accepts a citation number, driver’s license number with state, or first and last name with date of birth. It covers Summary Court and some Municipal Court tickets. It is not an active-warrant search; confirm any warrant question with the court that handled the citation.
- Town of McCormick matter: Town Police lists 864-852-2985 for business calls. Dispatch and non-emergency calls use 864-465-3211; Town Hall is 864-852-2225. A statewide municipal-court roster reviewed for this site did not list McCormick, so ask the Town which court received a citation instead of assuming a municipal clerk or payment counter exists.
When an office confirms that it has a record, ask which court issued the process, what case identifier it needs, and whether the current status can be confirmed by phone or in writing. If the first search is blank, ask whether the matter belongs to another court or agency. Do not treat the county traffic portal, SLED CATCH criminal-history product, inmate kiosk, or a third-party search advertisement as proof that a warrant is clear. SLED CATCH expressly does not search wanted persons.
For a public-record request, identify the specific agency record sought and ask that custodian how it accepts requests. South Carolina FOIA supplies a general response timetable, but exemptions and redactions may apply; the county FOIA policy linked from its contact page was not available for review here, so no local fee or submission method is stated. For a case-specific legal question, consult a licensed South Carolina attorney and the court that issued the process.
Before calling, have the citation or case number, the court name, and the date of the notice available. Ask whether the office can confirm status with those details, whether the case has moved to another division, and what channel it accepts for a written records request. Do not assume that silence from an online search, an unanswered public number, or a general records page resolves a specific warrant question. There is no verified county warrant walk-in window or city warrant desk schedule to rely on.
Money-order or certified-check instructions published for Magistrate’s Office payments do not establish the accepted payment route for every bond. Confirm the payee, amount, location, and case linkage directly with the court before sending funds. Bond Court’s location differs from the Magistrate’s office address, so read the location attached to the matter rather than traveling to the first county address listed online.
A public docket, traffic-ticket result, and Sheriff service record are different record types. The Public Index helps locate a court interface, the Traffic Ticket Search covers eligible citations, and the Sheriff lists Records and Warrant Service without publishing a countywide self-search. Tell the office whether you need an existing docket entry, a service return, a bond instruction, or a current status confirmation so staff can route the request to the right record holder.
